Target Audience
Anybody working with children, or with a young family. Minimum age 16.
Course Content
- Understanding the role of the first aider
- How to provide first aid for an infant or child who is unresponsive & breathing
- How to provide first aid for an infant or child who is unresponsive & not breathing
- Treatment for shock
- How to assess an emergency situation
- Treatment for choking
- Treatment for bleeding
- Treatment for fractures and dislocations
- Treatment for burns and scalds
- Treatment for back, neck and head injuries
- Treatment for extreme heat conditions, (hot & cold)
- Treatment for poisoning
- Treatment for conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose
- Treatment for electric shock
- Treatment for bites and stings
