Specflue Training |

Specflue place a large importance on education and training to the trade and our customers in general. Several years ago we invested in a new building allowing us some much needed training space. Because of this we are now able to offer HETAS training courses hosting 4 courses in the first 2010 quarter.
With the increased demand in our field we are now embarking on phase 2 of our training programme. Within 2009 we are increasing the size of our current training centre to encompass a holistic view of the trade. This will include appliances - working flues - working roof's and floors - fireplaces and biomass products and regulations.
Practical training within the trade is poor at best and Specflue are working to remedy this. We will have on-site practical assessors enabling us to run HETAS conversion courses for existing gas and oil installers and full working heating systems giving complete training skills on both wet and dry appliances and flues.
We also run twinwall chimney system training and educational factory tours allowing you to see all our products, discussing how they work and possibly being the first to see new design or prototype product improvement.
So whether you are looking to join this growing trade - or simply brush up on your technical knowledge - Specflue want to help you achieve your goals. The use of the training centre will be free of charge to all our customers, except for external trainer charges, and we look forward to working closely with them ensuring a safe professional industry moves forward for future years.

Twin Wall Training
This training is recognised by Hetas and can be used for accreditation of the Hetas competency scheme - section 6. Each day commences at 09.30 and should finish by 15.30. All training takes place at the National Chimney Academy, Sudbury, Suffolk, and includes a 'touch and feel' tour of the warehouse, giving everybody the opportunity to see all of our products, and ask questions about how they are used. Most customers find an item which they admit they didn't know we kept, and wished they knew last week when they struggled with something else !
Booking is on a first come first served basis, with limited spaces, and the cost is £50.00 + VAT in advance, non refundable, however, all attendees receive a £50.00 Specflue voucher upon completion of the course.

An Introduction to Flues
Our commitment to training also includes 'An Introduction to Flues' training course. This course, new for 2010, is designed for people who will require only a limited amount of flue knowledge, but covers all the basics. We see this being an ideal course for stove and fireplace showroom sales staff who will then know enough to tell customers when a basic proposal offers a flue design which will not work. This could then save on wasted site visits by your technical site visit employees. All attendees receive a certificate of attendance.
These courses start at 09.30 in the National Chimney Academy, Sudbury, Suffolk, and should finish around 15.30, after a warehouse tour so you can feel and touch the products. Lunch and refreshments are provided. The course costs £50 + vat, but this amount is then placed on your account as a credit upon attendance of the course.
