Sep 08: Specflue Wins Award

The chimney specialist Specflue has just been notified that it is amongst the major winners of the highly respected Green Apple Environment Awards – one of the few accredited feeder schemes into the international green programme via Brussels.

Specflue will receive their trophy at an event to be held at the House of Commons hosted by the doyen of environmentalists, David Bellamy. In turn, Specflue will be invited to join the National Green Heroes, an elite group of environmental achievers who use their experience and skills to help thousands of others – and the planet – around the world.

The highly regarded Green Apple awards are now in their fifteenth year, are recognised by all appropriate government and professional bodies and attracted over 500 nominations this year alone. They are organised by The Green Organisation - an independent organisation not aligned to activists, politics or profit – and which is dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.

Commenting on this latest meaningful award for Specflue, National Sales Manager Richard Hiblen observes “ This represents tangible recognition of our multi-faceted marketing programme by virtue of which we have created two niche websites named C02Savings and stovesandchimneys, developed full information material for developers and architects, introduced a new award-winning yet simple and cost-effective flue system as well as being certified as a Carbon Neutral company and finally created a unique TV campaign for linking the benefits of wood stove manufacturers to consumers. June 08: Specflue Ceramic

We are very proud to have won the “Best Associated Product” award from the NFA for ‘Specflue Ceramic’. Our team is happy to have been rewarded for all of their efforts to bring this unique flue into the UK market. All of our local representatives have samples and will be able to discuss with you in greater detail the benefits and usability of Specflue Ceramic. Specflue Ceramic is a CE approved twin wall insulated chimney system, suitable for appliances burning modern day fuels including wood pellets, biofuels and solid fuel. The material specification and construction of the product has been designed specifically to withstand very high temperatures and aggressive conditions within the flue caused by slumbering and burning of some fuels.

Even withstands chimney fires. The inner liner is manufactured out of 4mm thick engineered Ceramic, with a high grade mineral wool insulation, encased by a stainless steel outer casing. It is available in three diameters, 130mm, 150mm and 200mm including various adaptors, pipes, bends, tees and support components.
