May 10: David climbs Kilimanjaro

David Ebbs our Technical Manager reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro this week. It took him 5 days to get up and 1 day to get down. Well done to David and partner Nicola!

May 10: Brian boosts Specflue!

Maintaining their initiative in the vital sector of environmental and energy benefits, Specflue has now appointed a specialist a CO2 Savings Manager in the highly qualified form of Brian May. His key role will be to support and help educate architects, builders and developers as to the ecological benefits of using wood burning stoves in modern dwellings – which also reflects Specflue’s recent launch of the TermaTech range from Denmark.

As with all Specflue management, Brian’s comprehensive background and related education equips him superbly for this multi-faceted role. His pedigree embraces Building Studies and Geology degrees and includes major appointments at the likes of John Laing and winning the EDF award for Designing for energy efficiency. Extensive experience in buying, IT, sales and project management within the likes of builders merchants, housing development companies and a timber company means that Brian can truly relate to all people and situations.

As is so often the case, it was spotting an old school friend in the local newspaper who had collected a green award on behalf of Specflue propelled Brian in to this new coveted position.
